    Capacitors of course used. Since i do not have a capacity meter, i judged their condition, charging, and then measuring several times the voltage on the plates. Charged with a voltage of 28 v. As a result, in 12 hours, one showed 23.5 v, and the other 0. That is, there is a large leakage current in the second case. If immediately after charging to connect some active load, for example, a cooler from a pc, then both of the subjects do not untwist it weakly. If you consider that in the supply circuits from the capacitor requires an instant return of power, in my opinion the problem of self-discharge is not particularly relevant (the same capacitor, not the battery). So in principle, everything suits.
