Description
TheSX9310isacapacitiveSpecicAbsorptionRate(SAR)controller.
TheSX9310canusetwoofthethreesensorinputscoupledto
itssmartengineforSARtoaccuratelydiscriminatebetweenan
inanimateobjectandhumanbody.Thethirdsensorinputcanbe
usedindependentlyforstandardcapacitivesensing.
Theresultingdetectionisusedinportableelectronicdevicesto
reduceandcontrolradio-frequency(RF)emissionpowerinthe
presenceofahumanbody,enablingsignicantperformance
advantagesformanufacturersofelectronicdeviceswithelectro-
magneticradiationsourcestomeetstringentemissionregulations’
criteriaandSARstandards.
TheSX9310operatesdirectlyfromaninputsupplyvoltageof2.7Vto
5.5V,whiletheI2Cserialcommunicationbusportiscompatiblewith
1.8Vhostcontroltoreportbodydetection/proximityandtofacilitate
parametersettingsadjustment.Uponproximitydetection,theNIRQ
outputasserts,enablingtheusertoeitherdeterminetherelative
proximitydistance,orsimplyobtainanindicationofdetection.
TheSX9310includesanon-chipauto-calibrationcontrollerthat
regularlyperformssensitivityadjustmentstomaintainpeak
performanceoverawidevariationoftemperature,humidityand
noiseenvironments,providingsimpliedproductdevelopmentand
enhancedperformance.
