Safety Precautions
1. Keep the rated power and ambient temperature within the spec i fi ed de r at ing curve.
* When positioning and mounting Metal Film Resistors (here af ter called the resistors), make allowance for the
effect of heat generated through close contact between the re sis tors and neigh bor ing com po nents and for the
temperature rise of ad ja cent heat-generating com po nents.
2. If a transient load (heavy load in a short time) like a pulse is ex pect ed to be applied, check and eval u ate the
operations of the re sis tors when installed in your products before use.
When applying pulses to the resistors, keep the pulse peak with in the rat ed voltage.
3. When the resistors' protective coatings are chipped, fl awed, or re moved, the characteristics of the re sis tors may
be im paired. Take spe cial care not to apply mechanical shock dur ing automatic mounting or cause dam age
dur ing handling of the boards with the resistors mount ed.
4. Ultrasonic cleaning may cut the lead wire due to resonance. Try and check it before use.
The following are precautions for individual products. Please also refer to the precautions com mon to Fixed Re sis tors
shown on page ER3 of this catalog.
