Bourns Releases New TISP4S Series
Single Bidirectional Thyristor Surge Protectors
Riverside, California - TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 3, 2012 - Bourns is pleased to announce the release of
the Model TISP4SxxxyyBJR-S Series Single Bidirectional Thyristor Surge Protectors, designed to limit
overvoltages on telephone lines. A single Model TISP4S device provides 2-point protection and is typically
used for the protection of 2-wire telecommunication equipment (e.g., between the Ring and Tip wires for
telephones and modems).
In addition to Bourns’ comprehensive portfolio of thyristors, the new family of TISP® products was
designed to provide excellent circuit protection for cost-sensitive applications.
The Bourns® Model TISP4SxxxyyBJR-S Overvoltage Protector Series consists of a symmetrical voltage-
triggered bidirectional thyristor, provided in a space-saving surface mount SMB package. The model series
meets industry standard requirements for RoHS compliancy* and Pb Free solder refl ow profi les.
Combinations of devices can be used for multi-point protection (e.g. 3-point protection between Ring, Tip
and Ground). The product offering is listed on page 2 by protection voltage and surge current rating.
