3-to-8 Line Decoder
The TC74AC138 is an advanced high speed CMOS 3-to-8 LINE
DECODER fabricated with silicon gate and double-layer metal
wiring C
2
MOS technology.
It achieves the high speed operation similar to equivalent
Bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining the CMOS low power
dissipation.
When the device is enabled, 3 Binary Select inputs (A, B and
C) determine which one of the outputs (

) will go low.
When enable input G1 is held low or either
A2G
or
2BG
is
held high, decoding function is inhibited and all outputs go high.

inputs are provided to ease cascade
connection and for use as an address decoder for memory
systems.

discharge or transient excess voltage.

Please design the appropriate reliability upon reviewing the Toshiba Semiconductor Reliability Handbook
(“Handling Precautions”/Derating Concept and Methods) and individual reliability data (i.e. reliability test
report and estimated failure rate, etc).
Note 2: 500 mW in the range of Ta = 40 to 65°C. From Ta = 65 to 85°C a derating factor of 10 mW/°C should be
applied up to 300 mW.
