TheLV3296,acompactintegratedbarcodescannerfromRakindacompany,isthemain
componentofBarcodeclick.Thisistheadvancedbarcodescanner/readermodulewhich
featuresthepatentedUIMG®,acomputerizedimagerecognitionsystemtechnology
thatsupportsallmainstream1Dandstandard2Dbarcodetypes(forexample‐PDF417,QR
CodeM1/M2/MicroandDataMatrix)aswellasGS1‐DataBar™(RSS)
(Limited/Stacked/Expandedversions).Itcanreadbarcodesonvirtuallyanymedium,
includingpaper,plastic,mobilephones,LCDdisplays,etc.Thankstotheusedarea‐imaging
andUIMG®technologies,thedeviceisabletoscanbarcodesrotatedtoanyangle,with
greatspeedandprecision.
TheLV3296scannermoduleusesaflatcabletoconnecttotheclickboard™,viatheZIFFPC
connectoronthebacksideofthePCB.Thisflatcablecarriesallthesignalsusedin
communicationbetweentheLV3296moduleandthehostMCU,suchastheRX,TX,buzzer,
USB,interrupt,reset,andscanningtriggerlines.
ThecommunicationwithBarcodeclickisdonebyutilizingtwotypesofconnectionitoffers
‐UART(TTL232)andUSB.Whentheclickboard™isplacedintothemikroBUS™socket,it
willbeabletoexchangedatawiththeUARTmoduleoftheMCU,viathestandard
mikroBUS™RXandTXpins.
WhentheUSBcableisconnectedtothemicroUSBportontheclickboarditself,itcanbe
identifiedeitherasthevirtualUSBport,aHIDkeyboarddeviceoranHIDPOSdevice.HID
devicesdonotrequireanyspecialPCdrivers,whilethevirtualUSBdevicedoes.
ManyoptionsandparametersoftheBarcodeclickareconfigurable.Barcodeclick
configurationisveryeasyandintuitive‐itisenoughtoreadspecialconfiguration
messages,encodedintobarcodesthatcanbefoundintheLV3296user'sguide.Itisnot
evennecessarytoprintthemonpaper‐itisenoughtoshowthemonscreenandscanthem
