Preparation and Operation
3.3.1 Set up the hardware
Follow the setup steps outlined in the Quick Start section of this user’s manual.
You must have the supplied CodeWarrior IDE for HC12V3.1 or later and
HC(S)12 Service Pack installed on your computer and have obtained a license
to run this test.
3.3.2 Install the test software
The factory ships the DEMO9S12NE64 with the test software installed
on-board. If you have overwritten this code the following instructions will
allow you to re-program the part with the demo code provided on the
CD-ROM:
1) Connect the plug end of the supplied serial cable to the port labeled SCI on
your DEMO9S12NE64. Connect the socket end of the supplied serial cable to
a COM port on your PC.
2) Set SW3 to the 0 position.
3) Connect the plug of the supplied power supply to the socket labeled PWR
on your DEMO9S12NE64.
4) Make sure no other programs such as Hyper Terminal are connected to your
PC’s COM port.
5) From within CodeWarrior, open the NE64_Demo.mcp project located on the
included Resource CD.
6) From within the NE64_Demo.mcp project, in the target pull-down menu
select "Monitor".
7) Click on the "Debug" button. The True-Time Simulator & Real-Time
Debugger will open and program the part. The Command window in the bot-
tom right hand corner will say "Postload command file correctly executed".
The demo code has now been re-programmed onto your DEMO9S12NE64.
3.3.3 Run the test
1) Close the True-Time Simulator & Real-Time Debugger.
2) Disconnect power from your DEMO9S12NE64.
3) Set SW3 to the 1 position.
4) Connect the plug of the supplied power supply to the socket labeled PWR
