Capacitor C
SUPIC
filters the IC supply voltage, which must be supplied externally. Sense
resistor R
sense
converts the current through the MOSFET M1 to a voltage on the SNSCUR
pin. The R
sense
value determines the maximum primary peak current in MOSFET M1.
To limit the current into the SNSCUR pin due to negative voltage spikes across the sense
resistor, resistor R
SNSCUR
is added.
To protect the IC from damage during lightning events, resistor R
aux
is added.
