Diodes' NE555, SA555 and NA555 devices are industry standard timing circuits capable of producing accurate time delays or oscillation. They are used in a broad range of applications ranging from electronic toys to home experimentation.

These parts are industry standard with part numbers and specifications compatible with competitive parts from TI, NSC, ST, Fairchild and several others.

In the time-delay or monostable mode of operation, the timed interval is controlled by a single external resistor and capacitor network. In the astable mode of operation, the frequency and duty cycle can be controlled independently with two external resistors and a single external capacitor.

The three devices offer a selection of operating temperature ranges covering commercial and industrial applications. All three devices are supplied in a small outline 8 pin package (SO-8).
