High Capacitance MLCCs (0402 X5R 1 µF to 1206

Murata's high-capacitance ceramic chips offer better reliability, electrical performance, no polarity, and allow design engineers to downsize designs with various package options from 0402 X5R 1 µF to 1206 X5R 100 µF versus Ta and Al capacitors. The GRM product series is offered with a Nickel (Ni) barrier termination plated with Matte Tin (Sn) and is RoHS-compliant.

The Murata high-capacitance Ta replacement product lineup is available in X5R, X7R, Y5V and other TCs with a capacitance of 1 µF and larger. This line of high volumetric capacitance is available in 4 V, 6.3 V, 10 V, 16 V, 25 V, and 50 V and has excellent high frequency noise absorption performance compared to Ta and Al caps. Stringent dimensional tolerances allow highly reliable, high-speed, automatic chip placement on PCBs. For bypass/decoupling applications above approximately 100 kHz capacitors can be replaced with MLCC capacitance values of 1/2 to 1/5 the value of the Ta.
