C-CT Series, AC Current Sensors

Nidec Copal Electronics' C-CT series is a range of AC current sensors that monitor and measure electrical loads in residential and commercial energy management systems. The C-CT series is made of UL-94V-0-recognized materials with an operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. Available are four, clamp-hole C-CT PHOTO diameters that can accommodate wire or cable diameters of 6 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm, or 24 mm. Each AC current sensor is terminated with a minimum length of 150 mm of coated copper-stranded wire. Overcurrent protection is provided by two integrated zener diodes. These split-core AC current sensors contain a unique ferrite core with a turns ratio of 1:3000, overall accuracy of <1%, and depending on the specific part number, a maximum input current of AC 50 ARMS to AC300 ARMS.

Features
  • Clamp-on type (split-core design)
  • Wide measuring range with four aperture diameters
  • Zener diode provides overvoltage protection
  • RoHS compliant
  • Applicable frequency range of 10 Hz to 5 kHz
Applications
  • Measure or monitor current-in: HEMS (home energy management systems), and BEMS (building energy management systems)
  • Current monitoring in solar systems
  • Current monitoring of motors and attached loads
