Schurter’s portfolio of products for the solar industry includes the ASO series fuses, designed to protect DC applications from the potentially devastating effects of low-short-circuits and overvoltage conditions in systems upwards of 1000 VDC. These fuses are intended for use in grid or off-grid solar strings, inverters, battery charges, and combiner boxes.

The expanded-range of fuses come equipped with PCB terminals or bolt-mount tabs, so fuses can be mounted directly to the PCB to save board space and overall cost of assembly for combiner boxes. The mounting solutions are offered in addition to Schurter’s touch-safe fuseholder and conventional PCB fuse clips, providing a wide-range of mounting options for string and other PV system protection.

The ASO fuse has a quick-acting characteristic according to UL 248-14. It is a standard 10.3 x 38 mm midget size. Current ratings range from 1 to 30 A with a breaking capacity of 20 kA and operating temperature is -40°C to 85°C.
