Delivering high sensitivity and high accuracy over a wide temperature range, negative temperature coefficient SMD (NTCS) thermistors are fully covered with glass for environmental protection and feature nickel barrier contacts for improved soldering characteristics. NTCS thermistors from Vishay are ideal for temperature compensation, sensing, and protection circuits in a variety of applications.

NTCS thermistors use a ceramic-based technology and are available in three standard surface-mount case sizes (0402, 0603, and 0805). This series offers accurate temperature measurements over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +150°C. NTCS components are available in multiple resistance values (R25) and curve (B25/85) combinations for design flexibility across differing applications. NTCS thermistors are found in applications across many different market segments including automotive, industrial, medical, aerospace/military, and consumer. Available in paper tape-and-reel format, NTCS thermistors are fully compatible with high-volume, automated manufacturing processes including wave and reflow soldering. A tin-plated nickel termination provides better wettability and improved reliability against leaching compared with conventional silver/palladium solutions.
