CUI Inc. has expanded its 12 W and 24 W US wall power adapter series to meet the new Level VI efficiency standards. The SWI12-SC and SWI24-SC series meet the more stringent average efficiency and no load input power requirements, effective February 2016. The US Department of Energy (DOE) Level VI standards aim to significantly lower the amount of power consumed when the end application is not in use or is no longer connected.

The SWI12-SC and SWI24-SC series also feature screw terminal connections for designs that require flexibility beyond the standard 5 foot DC cord, including security, home automation, and smart applications. The adapters accommodate a wide-universal input voltage range of 90 V_AC to 264 V_AC are available in 12, 15, and 24 V_DC output options, and feature no-load power consumption less than 0.1 W. The single-output adapters cover both UL 60950 and UL 1310 safety approvals and meet the radiated and conducted emission requirements for FCC Part 15B Class B. Additional features include short circuit, over current, and over voltage protections.
