The top loading holders are best for access from above to exchange the cell, simple installation, and a secure connection. The side loading holders are best for side access, for mounting on the edge of the PCB, and for clearance on the PCB.

Top Loading Through-Hole Mount Holders: Through-hole holders allow for easy access from above to change the battery, no tools required. They are made of high-impact plastic and corrosive-resistant metals, with available options for gold flash overlay. The Snap Dragon series has a latching cover.

Top Loading Vertical Holders: Vertical battery holders maximize available board real estate, freeing up space. This allows the PCB to be populated with more components, thus economizing on circuit board material. The holders are particularly suitable for single board computers with tight space constraints.

Side Loading Gliders: Gliders are a hybrid between a retainer and a holder, offering the price competitiveness of a coin cell retainer while giving a better and more reliable connection than the standard battery holder. Once the battery has been installed into the tray, it simply glides into the retainer and clicks into place to provide a secure connection. Load, lock, and replace batteries easily in gliders.

Side Loading Retainers: The retainers are designed to meet the rigorous demands of portable equipment and feature ultra-light weight with exceptional strength. Sizes range from diameters of 4.8 mm to 24 mm and heights from 1.2 mm to 5.8 mm. They are available on tape and reel, are low cost, provide dual beam contacts, and are low profile.
