HE-PV Power Relays for Solar Inverter Applications

Panasonic introduces the HE-PV series, high-capacity, PCB, power relays, designed for solar and charging station applications. These relays contribute to energy saving in devices, thanks to reduced coil hold voltage that can be reduced down 40% of the nominal coil voltage and still operate.

The HE-PV series has a 1 Form A (SPST-NO) contact arrangement and has high current switching capacity up to 90 A maximum (AC). This relay offers a small size, large switching capacity, and a large, 3 mm contact gap. The small size of this relay allows for easier design and low power consumption of only 1.92 W. With the solar inverter market trending towards larger inverters to generate more power and reduce costs, the HE-PV (90 A type) provides the necessary capacity and low current consumption to make this possible. This relay is both compliant with the VDE0126 European Photovoltaic Standard and EN61810-1 Standard for 2.5 kW surge breakdown voltage (between contacts).
