TVS Diode Arrays ESD and Lightning SP4022 (23, 24)

Littelfuse’s SP4022, SP4023, and SP4024 series TVS diode arrays integrate low-capacitance steering diodes with one or two Zener diodes for unidirectional or bidirectional protection from ESD and lightning-induced surge events. These devices can safely absorb up to 7 A (SP4022 series), 12 A (SP4023 series), or 15 A (SP4024 series) per IEC 61000-4-5 (tP = 8/20 μs) without performance degradation and a minimum ±30 kV ESD per IEC 61000-4 2 international standard. Their low-loading capacitance and high-surge capability makes them ideal for protecting telecommunication ports such as xDSL and other high-voltage, high-speed legacy interfaces.

Features

  • Benchmark setting surge protection, peak pulse power: 500 W (SP4022), 450 W (SP4023), 350 W (SP4024)
  • Low capacitance of 1.3 pF (typ.)
  • Enhanced ESD capability: ESD, IEC 61000-4-2, ±30 kV (contact)
  • Low-dynamic resistance (RDYN): 0.5 Ω for SP4022, 0.55 Ω for SP4023, 0.7 Ω for SP4024

Benefits

  • Offer more overhead to electrical threats defined by regulatory standards: 43% more power handling capability for the SP4022; 29% more power handling capability for the SP4023
  • 56% lower capacitance solutions help to preserve signal integrity and minimize data loss while offering a more robust device against electrical threats
  • Enhanced ESD protection exceeds the highest level of the IEC 61000-4-2 standard (±8 kV), providing maximum reliability for equipment during installation and servicing
  • Provide low-clamping voltages for sensitive chipsets, protecting them from catastrophic failure, and maximizing system uptime and reliability
