AMW106 Ultra-Low Power Wi-Fi Networking Module wit

Silicon Labs' AMW106 is an ultra-low power Wi-Fi networking module, complete with full-regulatory certification. The module runs an embedded TCP/IP networking stack, webserver with RESTful API/WebSockets, SSL/TLS 1.2/HTTPS security, and offers RF pads allowing for maximum antenna flexibility.

As a part of the Numbat family of products, the modules ship with a fully-licensed version of ZentriOS.

ZentriOS is the feature-rich IoT operating system powering resource constrained devices. As the heart of the Zentri Secure Connected Platform for IoT, ZentriOS empowers industrial, commercial, and consumer product companies to design successful connected products in weeks and instantly get that highly valuable product data to the cloud.

ZentriOS provides integrated security, sophisticated network connectivity features, file management, rich peripheral interfaces, and much more. By abstracting the underlying complexity of connectivity, developers can focus on what they do best – build great products.

ZentriOS uses a REST API for feature extensibility. Users have the option to run applications in an external, serially connected microcontroller with the Command API over serial, HTTP, WebSockets, or remote terminal for Wi-Fi or via serial or remote connection for Bluetooth LE (BLE) or embedded directly in an encrypted sandbox. Regardless of connection preference, ZentriOS yields access to mobile application and cloud services as part of the Zentri Secure Connected Platform for IoT.

Features
  • Purpose-built, hardware and cloud agnostic operating system for IoT
  • Feature rich, repeatable code libraries
  • Network discovery protocols including mDNS (Zeroconf), NetBIOS and Link-local Multicast Name Resolution (LLMNR)
  • Communications interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C
  • User programmable GPIOs, ADCs, DACs and timers
  • Obsessively maintained full-stack security, including:
    • Support for all SOHO Wi-Fi security types: Open, WEP, WPA, WPA2-AES and WPA2-mixed modes
    • Onboard commercial TCP/IP stack with SSL/TLS/HTTPS security
    • Securely injected credentials, per product encryption, user authentication, and more

Benefits

  • The fastest, most secure path to a successful connected product launch
  • Ability to instantly focus time and resources on product differentiation rather than building a platform from the ground up
  • Scalable from one connection to millions of connections without additional work
  • Rapid development of mobile apps and embedded applications, adding product functions and features that are easily storable for authorized users to share and deploy
  • Flexible, cost optimizing options with easy inter-operability and your choice of hardware and cloud service providers
