AZV5002 Audio Jack Detector

Diodes' AZV5002 is a low-power and cost-effective headset detection IC that includes a comparator that internal hysteresis, OR gate, and N-channel MOSFET integrated designed to detect the assertion of a headset with a microphone.

Pull-up resistors for the detection pins are internalized and a built in resistor divider provides the reference voltage for detecting the left audio channel.

The logic low-output of the OR gate indicates the headset has been connected properly.

The AZV5002 is available in a miniaturized package, U-QFN1418-10, which helps reduce the space needed on PCB boards.

Benefits
  • Comparator, OR gate, N-channel MOSFET integrated
  • Low-supply current: 5μA (typ) at VCC = 1.8 V
  • Low-voltage operation (down to 1.6 V)
  • Miniaturized package without extra external components
Applications
  • Mobile phones
  • Tablets
  • Battery-powered devices
  • Alarm and security systems
