A common shielding mistake can occur when a shielded cable connection is grounded through intertwined connections (“pig tails”) that are kept too long. The result is a high impedance connection that will not give a good path for the noise to travel to the ground. It is recommended that all cable connections use a shielding connection with low impedance to the ground. This can be solved very easily using Wurth Electronics' earthing nylon clips. These clips are available for cables from 3 mm to 15 mm in diameter. They are very flexible, extremely low weight and without sharp edges. In this way the cables are well connected and also well fixed to the board without damaging the shielding cable.
