Wurth Electronics offers base nanocrystalline, high-current, base nickel-zinc, extreme bandwidth, horizontal, and high-voltage common mode power-line chokes.
WE-CMB Series Common Mode Choke: The WE-CMB series achieves high suppression of asymmetric interferences, even at low frequency ranges. Do not underestimate the parasitic effects when using common mode chokes. This was the most important point to reduce these dues when developing the WE-CMB series. The perfect core / winding-ratio enables very-high currents at comparable areas, anyhow the inductance is sufficient. The adjusted wire gauge realizes low heating.
WE-CMBNC Series Common Mode Choke on Base Nanocrystalline: The WE-CMBNC product family is made with nanocrystalline cores and features broadband attenuation. Compared with the conventional cores made of MnZn core materials, nanocrystalline cores have 20 times more permeability. Mains-borne interference can, thus, be reduced down into the low kHz frequency range, where conventional NiZn and MnZn cores have very little attenuate effect. Even in high-frequency ranges, high levels of attenuation can be achieved due to the low winding capacitance. Compared with conventional cores, the Curie temperature is about three times higher, so push-pull interference cannot result in saturation of the mains choke.
WE-CMB HC Series Common Mode Choke High-Current: The WE-CMB HC series can also achieve high suppression of asymmetric interferences even at low frequency ranges. This series also features higher current ratings.
WE-CMB NiZn Series Common Mode Choke on Base Nickel-Zinc: The WE-CMB NiZn series has a core material of nickel-zinc and can achieve high suppression rates of asymmetric interferences at high and medium frequencies.
WE-ExB Series Common Mode Choke with Extreme Bandwidth: Wurth Electronics WE-ExB series offers double-core chokes made of MnZn and NiZn. Its insertion loss has a range of effect over a broader frequency range than does a single NiZn or MnZn core. Compared with previously available current-compensated line chokes, it offers a 70% greater insertion loss in the low frequency range (150 kHz to 4 MHz) and a 30% greater insertion loss in the high-frequency range (4 MHz to 30 MHz). This current-compensated common mode choke is particularly suited for network applications with a broad interference spectrum in EMC, network, or common-mode filters, especially in power electronics and motor interference suppression.
WE-CMBH Series Common Mode Choke Horizontal: Wurth Electronics offers a common mode power-line choke in a horizontal version. With a profile height of only 22 mm, the power-line choke is ideal for slim housings. Due to the low capacitance winding technology, suppression over a wide band is now possible. This makes the WE-CMBH series an excellent choice for interference suppression in the frequency range from 150 kHz to 30 MHz. This series can be used to filter common mode noise in AC/DC, as well as high-power DC/DC, power supplies. In addition, the CMBH series is equipped with a rugged mechanical stability due to no solder or glue connections of the core or leads to the plastic base. The available inductance values range from 1.0 mH to 7.0 mH, with current handling capabilities of up to 10 A.
WE-CMB HV Series Common Mode Choke High-Voltage: The WE-CMB HV series are current-compensated common mode chokes for mains applications up to 760 VAC. This series is pitch-compatible with the existing WE-CMB and WE-CMB NC series. Due to the plastic case and thicker separator, the WE-CMB HVs have up to three times the rated voltage, twice the insulation voltage, and up to three times greater clearance and creepage distances than the WE-CMB series.
