APX803S / APX809S / APX810S 3-Pin Microprocessor S

Diodes microprocessor (μP) supervisory/reset generator circuits monitor the power supplies in μP, μC, and digital systems, and issue a reset pulse at power-up and supply failure. They enhance circuit reliability by ensuring the system starts into a known state and reduce cost by eliminating external components. They are available with different reset thresholds suitable for operation with a variety of supply voltages (5 V, 3.3 V, 3.0 V, and 2.5 V). They assert a reset signal whenever the supply voltage falls below its preset threshold and is kept asserted for a minimum period of time (delay time) after VCC has risen above the reset threshold. The outputs are guaranteed to be in the correct logic state for VCC down to 1 V. The APX803S has an open-drain active-low output and complements Diode’s APX809S which has an active-low push-pull output stage output. The APX810S has an active-high push-pull output. All three are available with different delay times of 1.7 ms, 50 ms, or 240 ms. These products are available in different pinout SOT23 packages.

Features

  • Low supply current: 10 µA minimal operating current for system efficiency
  • High threshold voltage accuracy: +1.5% provides precise VCC reset thresholds
  • RESET output active when VCC is greater than 0.9 V prevents the μP/μC from incorrect operation at power-up
  • Preset recovery delay time options: 1.7 ms, 50 ms, and 240 ms meet different system requirements
Applications
  • Computers
  • Controllers
  • Intelligent instruments
  • Critical µP and µC power monitoring
  • Portable/battery powered equipment
