Bluetooth® click boards™

With the range up to a 100 meters and low power consumption, MikroElektronika's Bluetooth click is a great solution if users are looking for a simple way to integrate Bluetooth 2.1 communication to the device. It features the RN-41 low power, class 1 Bluetooth radio module. Bluetooth click communicates with the target board MCU via a UART interface and runs on 3.3 V power supply only. The RN-41 Class 1 Bluetooth radio module delivers up to a 3 Mbps data rate, for distances up to 100 meters (class 1 radio). Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR version includes sniff subrating, a feature that significantly increases battery life for devices that have long periods in idle mode, like home sensor networks, headsets, and more. The host can specify maximum transmit and receive latencies so that a device knows how often in a cycle it needs to enter sniff mode. The average power consumption in normal mode is 30 mA, 8 mA in low-power sniff mode, and only 2.5 mA in stand-by mode. Low power consumption and high data rates make this click the best choice in barcode scanners, measurement and monitoring systems, industrial sensors and controls, medical devices, asset tracking, and more.

MikroElektronika's BLE2 click features the RN4020 module from Microchip, which integrates RF, a baseband controller, and a command API processor, making it a complete Bluetooth low energy (BLE) solution. The click communicates with the target board MCU through mikroBUS™ RX, TX and AN (CMD), PWM (con.), and RST (wake) lines. The BLE2 runs on a 3.3 V power supply.  The RN4020 has Microchip’s Low-energy Data Profile (MLDP), which enables an asynchronous serial data connection between two RN4020 devices (which could be two BLE2 clicks). The module can be remotely controlled or updated over-the-air by another module over a secure connection or can be controlled or updated through its UART interface. The RN4020 module aboard BLE2 click incorporates a PCB antenna with a range of at least 30 m.
