MIKROE-2659 eINK click board™

MikroElektronika’s MIKROE-2659 eINK click board is an adapter for connecting eINK displays with a 24-pin ribbon cable. The eINK display sold with the click can retain the image even when the power is off. The click board is designed to run on a 3.3 V power supply and communicates over serial peripheral interface (SPI) interface. The display uses electronic ink, which makes the display “bistable” so the display consumes power only when something is changing on the screen. Power consumption of the target device is reduced considerably since the display retains the image even when the power is off. eINK displays have good sunlight readability, comparable to reading something on real paper. It has a wide viewing angle and the resolution of 172 dots x 72 dots. The color of the display has four scales: black, dark gray, light gray, and white. The power consumption, while the display is on, is around 40 mW. The onboard NXP LM75A temperature sensor is used for temperature calibration from the look-up table.
