A1262 2D, Dual Channel, Latching Hall-Effect Senso

Allegro's A1262 integrated circuit is a 2D ultra-sensitive Hall effect latch. It features operation with traditional planar magnetic field direction as well as vertical sensing direction. The dual operation of the planar and vertical Hall elements allows the end user to achieve 90° of phase separation that is inherently independent of magnetic pole spacing. The quadrature outputs of the A1262 allows rotation direction to be determined, such as when sensing a rotating ring-magnet target. This device is targeted for the automotive, industrial and instrumentation markets in motor commutation applications such as window lift, sunroof, sliding doors, and trunk and tail gate lifts.

Features
  • Unique 2D Hall latch sensor field in two directions via vertical and planar sensing
  • Quadrature signals independent of magnet geometry or sensor spacing
  • Highly sensitive (BOP = 17 G typ.)
  • Chopper stabilized
  • Automotive-grade ruggedness
  • Tiny SOT23-5 package replaces a pair of latches or larger dual-channel devices
Applications
  • Speed and direction sensing of ring-magnets
  • Automotive applications:
    • Window lifts / sunroofs
    • Tail / lift-gates
    • Electronic power steering (EPS)
    • Seat position
  • Motors/encoders
  • Industrial/consumer applications:
    • White goods
    • Automated window blinds
    • Garage door openers
    • Sliding doors
