Broadcom's fiber optic (FO) short link products are cost-effective semiconductor products that provide up to 50 kV transient galvanic isolation on a single PCB. Based on 650 nm fiber optic technology, the FO short link devices are suitable for applications such as inverters and drives, power electronics, or medical equipment.

The integrated receiver output of the AFBR-3905xxRZ series is compatible with TTL logic families and operates with any type of signal from DC up to 5 MBd while the AFBR-3950xxRZ series operates with any type of signal from DC up to 50 MBd. These devices offer creepage and clearance distances with minimums of 24.96 mm to 101.16 mm.
