ATWINC3400 from Microchip Technology is an IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and BLE4.0 Internet of Things (IoT) network controller SoC. It is the ideal add-on to existing microcontroller (MCU) solution to add Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) network capabilities to a design. The module communicates through a UART or SPI-to-Wi-Fi interface. The ATWINC3400 connects to any Microchip PIC® or SAM MCU with minimal resource requirements.
The ATWINC3400’s most advanced mode is a single-stream 1x1 802.11n mode providing up to 72 Mbps PHY throughput. The ATWIN3400 features a fully integrated power amplifier, LNA, switch, and power management. It also features an on-chip MCU and integrated Flash memory for system software with built-in coexistence mechanism for concurrent Wi-Fi and BLE functionality. The only external clock source needed for the ATWINC3400 is a high-speed crystal or oscillator with a wide variety of reference clock frequencies supported. The ATWINC3400 is available in a QFN IC package as well.
