Linear Technology/Analog Devices’ LT3062 is a low dropout (LDO) linear regulator that operates over a 1.6 V to 45 V supply range. This regulator family has two fixed output voltages as well as an adjustable option. The fixed output options are 3.3 V and 5 V and the adjustable output voltage is from the 600 mV reference up to 40 V. This regulator supplies 200 mA of output current with a typical dropout voltage of 300 mV.
A single external capacitor provides programmable low noise reference performance and output soft-start functionality. The LT3062’s quiescent current is merely 45 μA and provides fast transient response with a minimum 3.3 μF output capacitor. In shutdown, quiescent current is less than 1 μA and the reference soft start capacitor is reset. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery protection, reverse-output protection, reverse-current protection, current limit with fold-back and thermal shutdown. The LT3062 is offered in 8-lead 2 mm × 3 mm DFN and MSOP packages. The LT3062 is ideal for battery powered applications found in automotive, avionics and industrial applications.
