MagI3C-VDMM: Variable Step Down MicroModule

Wurth Electronics' MicroModule series of the MagI3C power module family is designed as a very small, low power, fully integrated DC-DC power supply including the buck switching regulator, inductor, and small input and output capacitors in a single package. It supports input voltages of 2.7 V to 5.5 V and is particularly suitable for point of load applications from 3.3 V and 5 V rails where high efficiency (up to 96%) at both high and light load, small space, and short design time is required.

The module is housed in a low-profile 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.6 mm LGA-6EP package with good thermal performance. The operating ambient temperature is as high as +85°C still supporting the full nominal output current.

The module complies with the low noise electromagnetic emission norm EN55022 Class B and is therefore a good match for power supply in industrial applications, test and measurement, and medical systems. Its small size makes it ideal for portable instruments and battery powered equipment.
