FBR Series Fiber Optic Distribution Enclosures

Bud Industries’ FBR series of fiber optic distribution boxes are molded from a high-quality, lightweight polycarbonate ABS blended material that is a completely enclosed structure. All eight sizes can manage fiber lines, which are thin pieces of flexible glass that cannot bend. They are used as termination points for the feeder cable to connect with the drop cable in FTTH (fiber to the home) and FTTx (fiber to the location) communication network systems. There is no electricity in these boxes; they integrate fiber splicing, splitting, distribution, storage, and cable connection in one unit. They also provide solid protection and management for FTTH and FTTx network building. The boxes come in multiple sizes and configurations from 6.57” x 4.02” x 1.22” to 12.6” × 9.4” × 3.94”, and all serve the same purpose. The smallest two sizes of FBR series boxes, typically harder to find, expand the target market into home usage. With low entry point pricing, they have already been established with internet providers and the installers who are contracted to install them.

Each box comes complete with a diagram detailing how to utilize it and a spooling shelf which allows it to create radiuses while holding the fiber line in the box. The fiber optic distribution boxes vary in the number from 2- to 24-core. The core is the size of the main fiber line divided into subdivisions. Included with each FBR box is a basic grounding tube, a plastic face inserts to organize fibers, zip ties, and pins to keep the fiber in place. They are secured with an anti-theft/vandalizing locking mechanism.
