Hirose's DF1B connector connector, part of the SignalBee line of cable connectors, brings an ideal solution for office equipment applications. With an innovative concept for wire-to-board connectors allowing both insulation displacement and crimping contacts to be used together, the DF1B provides different current capacity cables to be mixed in one housing. To terminate, the insulation displacement process can be performed by simply replacing the applicator in the existing crimping machine; no expensive insulation displacement equipment is required. To add waterproofing, the high-profile header is capable of board potting process (sealed with resin). Broad variations include single row and double row contacts. Tin and gold plated options are available.

The DF1E adds a full locking feature. The inner lock system prevents disengagement due to unexpected shock. A double contact insertion lock provides increased retention and semi-insertion prevention. The housing is designed with a misinsertion prevention feature to prevent reverse mating and insertion between dissimilar contacts.
