VITA 67 Backplane Solutions with SMPM Interfaces

Molex's high-density VITA 67 backplane solutions, with 4- and 8-port configurations incorporating 26.5 GHz SMPM interfaces, provide superior RF connectivity within versatile performance switching (VPX) platforms.

Embedded computing industry OEMs need a standardized backplane connector to make their products compatible with the wide range of cable assemblies available to end users. VITA 67 RF/microwave backplane solutions provide coaxial connectivity for RF, video, and other analog signals in a standardized format. The standardization of VITA 67 also makes it easier to implement in a system without having to change out other components for compatibility.

OEMs need connectors that fit in ever-shrinking compact and handheld devices that also need to be lightweight to support portability. Molex delivers a lightweight aluminum version of VITA 67 backplane connectors with compact SMPM connectors to fit in small portable devices.

OEMs often need cable assemblies that are high-performing and compact, but using contract manufacturers can prove timely and not cost effective. Molex provides VITA 67 cable assemblies with high-performing Temp-Flex 0.047 and 0.086 PFA solid core cables, offering speed and convenience of procuring both the connector and assembly from one vendor.
